Mt. Pleasant is about to up its lunch game.
In what’s become a summertime tradition in the city, the annual Food Truck Friday series returns to the parking lot of the Central Michigan University Research Corporation.
For the sixth straight year, residents will be able to attend the food truck rally each and every Friday throughout the summer. This year’s Food Truck Friday series runs 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. from June 7th through August 23rd.
It’s a popular event in the city. According to the CMURC, last year’s Food Truck Friday events drew more than 5,500 attendees, generating $64,250 in sales for the 26 participating vendors.
Each week, ten vendors consisting of eight food trucks and two guaranteed local businesses will gather in front of the CMURC to offer a diverse array of food options.
Among this year’s participating vendors include 3 Lil Pigs BBQ & Catering, Bubba Q-Twin Turbo BBQ, Central Fusion, Cruisin Chef, The Grub Hubb, Ignite Donuts, LumberJill Concessions, The Patty Wagon, Phatt Matt's Food Trailer, and more.
Attendees will vote on their favorite food truck each week, thereby naming the weekly Food Truck Friday champion. The food truck with the most votes at the end of the season will be named the 2019 CMURC Favorite Food Truck.
This year’s events will also feature local entrepreneurs in a product showcase. Attendees will be given the chance to shop limited-run and first-edition products from local entrepreneurs like Theramazing and Dribble Stick Training.
Food Truck Fridays are held each and every Friday in the front parking lot of the Central Michigan University Research Corporation, which is located at 2625 Denison Dr. in Mt. Pleasant.
