There’s big news for diners who just can’t get enough of
Downtown Subs and Salads / New York Burrito. The formerly lunch and dinner-only restaurant has now expanded its menu and hours to include breakfast.
“We’ve wanted to do this for a couple years now,” says co-owner Thomas Vonachen. “We’ve spent the last year getting our ideas and recipes right. We wanted to take advantage of the city and state workers who are down here in the morning.”
The
Downtown Lansing restaurant is now open at seven in the morning and remains open until six at night. The expanded menu includes breakfast burritos with egg and chorizo sausage, homemade bread, granola, oatmeal and more.
“Everything is made from scratch,” says Vonachen.
The extra hours allows Vonachen and his brother and co-owner David Vonachen to expand the hours of their current employees, taking two 10-hour employees to nearly full time.
The expanded menu and hours began nearly two weeks ago, and Vonachen reports a positive response thus far.
“It’s good,” he says. “We’re getting more people everyday.”
