Foresight Group has been in the local commercial printing game for more than 100 years. The company, which now utilizes four buildings near I-496 and Cedar, is about to consolidate their operations into one 30,000 square foot building on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
The move will have a greater impact on Foresight’s operations than simply housing all 33 employees under one roof. The new location will include the addition of loading docks, new equipment and technology upgrades.
“We’re retooling the whole company from the software to the manufacturing process,” says Foresight President Bill Christofferson. “We’re going to have a larger press that will be able to produce bigger jobs, which will hopefully gain us more work and more employees.”
The facility will also feature something uncommon to commercial properties of its kind - a classroom.
“We’re going to have a lot of training available for our customers at the new location,” says Christofferson. “Anything from how to create a file how to do wide-format printing to paper seminars from our suppliers.”
Foresight’s purchase of the property is a benefit to Lansing as well, as the property was formerly held by the tax-exempt non-profit, Peckham, but now will be back on the tax rolls. The company has been working with the
Lansing Economic Development Corporation throughout the process.
Christofferson expects the Foresight Group to move into their new location by April 15.
