As the needs of their patients and residents grow, as does the campus of the
Ingham County Medical Care Facility. Just months after the center celebrated a new,
$1.6 million therapy pool, they are now breaking ground on a 3,500-sqaure foot addition to their Dementia Unit.
“ICMCF continues to lead the way in providing supportive, long term care,” says ICMCF administrator Mark Stevens, “as well as rehabilitative services for the people who live in the Ingham County and Mid-Michigan area, and we continue to grow.”
The $1.5 million addition will include a therapeutic activities area, walkway and courtyard. The goal of the area is to delver “person centered” service for residents with dementia at ICMCF with an environment that provides safe, secure access to the outdoors.
The addition will also include activity zones with recreational opportunities, such as multi-sensory experiences, as well as comfortable places for rest.
“The Dementia Unit addition is the newest addition to the comprehensive care we provide Mid-Michigan,” says Stevens.
