Reno's West is committed to growing Michigan's economy. At any given time, the bar has at least 16 Michigan beers on tap, and carry a variety of locally-made food and spirits.
"We've been focusing on the Michigan products for quite a few years now," says Lauren Kenczyk,
Reno's West General Manager. "It's giving back to your community. We love Michigan."
Now, they're going beyond stocking local brews and spirits and hiring Michigan companies to help them expand their own. They are a few weeks into construction on a $250,000 patio expansion.
"The plans have been in the works for a few years now to increase service and expand our business," says Kenczyk. "We're really excited about this patio."
The addition will add extra seating, a full indoor-outdoor bar with 40 beers on tap, a pavilion roof, a tiki hut to house entertainment, flat screen televisions and glass garage doors for easy conversion into an enclosed patio for year-round use.
Kenczyk expects the work to be done by Labor Day, just in time for football season. The extra space will also require extra staff, which Kenczyk anticipates expanding by 50 percent.
In keeping with their commitment to Michigan businesses, Reno's is working with such contractors as Re-Verber-Ray, Glastender and Overhead Door.
"We're going to create an indoor-outdoor feel," says Kenczyk. "We'll be done in time for football season, and we expect to be bombarded."
Reno's West remains open for business throughout their construction.
