There’s a lot happening near
Lansing Township’s Eastwood Towne Center, and in 2013, hundreds of people will have the chance to live right in the middle of it. The Heights is a residential and commercial development that will add 124 new apartments to the area.
“It’s a pretty cool location. From the top floors, you can see MSU stadium, and you can see the capital,” says Allen Russell, director of development and construction for
DTN Management, the local real estate developer working with Lansing Township on the development. “We believe in the location and the concept.”
The 40,000 square foot development will include 2,700 square feet of commercial space owned by Lansing Township and another 5,000-7,000 square feet owned by DTN. According to Russell construction should begin this week.
The $12 million investment by DTN will include efficiencies, 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom apartments that will include such amenities as a training center, lounge, year-round hot tub and outdoor fire pits.
“We refer things like modern design oriented toward people who want live in an walkable, urban environment,” says Russell. “These apartments have smaller square footage, but better use of square footage. We’re excited about the quality.”
