Bronson Colon and Rectal Surgery welcomes Edward Itawi

Edward Itawi, MD., has joined Bronson Colon & Rectal Surgery.

Dr. Itawi specializes in diverticulitis, prevention and treatment of tumors of the colon and rectum, natural orifice surgery, enhanced recovery following abdominal operations, anal fistulas, hemorrhoids, abscesses and gastrointestinal bleeding.

Dr. Itawi is board certified in general surgery and colorectal surgery. He earned his medical degree from the University of Toledo.

Dr. Itawi completed a colorectal surgery fellowship at Greater Baltimore Medical Center and his general surgery residency at Michigan State University/Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies. Prior to joining Bronson, Dr. Itawi practiced at Providence St. John’s Hospital System in Detroit.

He joins Dr. Michael Chen and physician assistant Courtney Converse in providing comprehensive colon and rectal surgical care.
