The Bay Area Community Foundation is giving grants to 22 nonprofit organizations through the Bay County Nonprofit ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) Grant Program.
Bay County allocated $750,000 for the program to address the negative impact of COVID-19 experienced in the nonprofit sector
. The money will help nonprofits recover from the negative economic impacts of the pandemic. It can be used for payroll, rent or mortgage payments, and operating costs.
“Bay County’s nonprofit organizations provide a host of essential services to our community’s families and businesses,” says Diane Mahoney, President and CEO of BACF.
“We are thrilled to partner with the County of Bay to provide funds to support these organizations as we continue to build a united, thriving and resilient community. Together, we are moving toward a future that ensures safety, economic opportunity and social support for all.”
Tom Herek, Bay County Board of Commissioners Chairman, adds that these agencies provide key services to the community.
“Bay County is proud to partner with BACF in the awarding of grants to area nonprofits," Herek says. "Their work in the community is a vital part of everyday life and a reminder that we are all in this together. Everyone is important if we are to build a stronger and more vibrant Bay County.”
