Birmingham welcomes Kalamazoo-based trust

The Greenleaf Trust name familiar in the Kalamazoo area continues to branch out across Michigan.

Its latest move is into a new home for its 6-year-old operation in Southeast Michigan. Greenleaf Trust hosted a grand opening gala June 17 at its new 50,000-square-foot, Silver LEED certified building at Maple and Woodward avenues in Birmingham.

Chairman and President William D. Johnston, as well as Co-Chair Ronda Stryker, and members of Greenleaf Trust’s Board of Directors hosted the event.

Clients, professionals in estate and tax law, community members, and elected officials were in the crowd of 300 attending that evening. The new building is the workplace of the Greenleaf Trust team of more than 70 employees, handling more than 700 clients and employer-sponsored retirement plans with nearly 8,000 participants.

“The grand opening of our new office in Birmingham was every bit as rewarding as we had hoped,” says Mark Jannott, Greenleaf Senior Vice President and Business Development Officer. Birmingham’s enthusiasm and excitement about the future and its appreciation that Greenleaf Trust will play a positive role in shaping made the event even more grand.

Food and drink for the event were provided by Zazios, the Greenleaf Hospitality Group modern Italian restaurant, which occupies the ground floor of the new building.

Greenleaf Trust, a Michigan Chartered Bank, specializes in wealth management, trust administration, fiduciary services and employer sponsored retirement plans. Greenleaf Trust is an independent, Michigan-chartered trust-only bank with offices in Kalamazoo, Holland, Grand Rapids, Traverse City, Petoskey and Birmingham.
