Whirlpool donates to Boys & Girls Club

Funds raised during the annual Whirlpool Corp.’s Golf Tournament are helping to make a new Boys & Girls Club teen center and clubhouse realities in Benton Harbor. Whirlpool Chairman and CEO Jeff Fettig presented the club with a check for $1.5 million, raised during the Golf Tournament, reports the Herald-Palladium.
Excerpt:
With the donation, the club now has $6.6 million of its $7 million capital campaign goal for a Teen Center at 190 W. Empire Ave. and a clubhouse for K-8 students near Hall Park. The buildings are part of the club’s efforts to double its membership and do more to reach out to children and teens during the peak hours for juvenile crime.
