B.C. Enquirer: Catholic church to celebrate 150 years.

The Michigan Historical Commission announced last week that St. Philip Catholic Church at the corner of West Van Buren Street and Capital Avenue Northeast will receive a historical marker, reports the Battle Creek Enquier. The state will note that the parish has been at that location since 1863, which will officially be 150 years in March. The church first bought the property that was a Quaker building in 1863, and Catholic parishioners had been meeting in various places around Battle Creek before that.
