Main Street in downtown Benton Harbor is the new home for Chemical Bank.
The bank's new location has been designed to complement its surroundings and has 2,800 square feet of space built at a cost of $1.2 million.
Since March 2007, the bank has leased the first floor from the school district with the intention of moving to a new facility in the City of Benton Harbor when a more convenient customer location was identified. It sold the location it was in at the time at 823 Riverview Drive to Benton Harbor Area Schools.
This new bank at 433 West Main Street is a full service branch with three offices, a drive up, an ATM, Night Depository, and Safe Deposit Boxes.
It will be staffed by Branch Manager Linda Bolton, a customer service representative and four tellers. Mortgage Banker Debbie Yeske also will work from the new bank. She will be responsible for and will assist customers with mortgage products and services for those in the Benton Harbor area.
Chemical bank also worked to meet the energy efficiency standards that allowed the new construction to be LEED certified.
"There is so much positive energy in Benton Harbor," says Bob Burch, Community President. "The Arts District is booming, the resurfacing of Main Street looks awesome. The Harbor Shores Golf Club is attracting tourism and Whirlpool's new Riverview campus is helping Benton Harbor grow. We are excited about our new branch and to be a small part of the revitalization under way."
