Courier Leader: Dog helps with independence

The Paw Paw  Courier Leader reports a 2-year-old male yellow Labrador-Golden Retriever mix came into David Martin’s life in May and has changed it for the better.

Excerpt: Martin has a new “best buddy” — one who picks up after him, turns on and off light switches, opens and fetches things from the refrigerator (and closes the door after himself), opens and closes doors and drawers and generally looks after the 40-year-old Lawton resident — as much as a service dog can.
