'Michiganders have big hearts': Alpena digital marketing firm to award free services to 3 nonprofits

What’s happening: An Alpena-based digital marketing agency has announced a new contest that will award custom website and marketing services to three Michigan nonprofits. The campaign intends to bolster Michigan nonprofits as they attempt to manage and mitigate the financial upheaval currently underway within the federal government.

Why it’s important: "There are a lot of executive directors and fundraising people wondering how they're going to keep the lights on," says Amethron co-founder Dylan Tanner. "The organizations that are going to weather this will be the ones who can pivot towards the people giving $25, $50, or $100 at a time."

Who they are: Tanner co-founded Amethron in Alpena in 2023. With Tanner’s 15 years professional experience in nonprofit marketing, the firm specializes in helping nonprofits and small businesses increase website conversion rates among donors and customers, respectively.

How it works: Three Michigan-based nonprofit organizations will win custom website and marketing services from the Alpena firm Amethron. Winners will receive new websites and 1-on-1 marketing consulting services that are designed with the intent to help organizations reach a wider donor base. Internal goals set by the firm could trigger additional services, including digital ads management and professional photoshoots.

The deadline to nominate a nonprofit is 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30. Visit Amethron online for eligibility requirements, contest rules, and more.

What they’re saying: "Michiganders have big hearts,” says Tanner. “If we see a need, we do something. Our team has been looking at things and saying 'What can we do?' This is our way of using our marketing skills to do some good."
