St. Joe to allow residents to rent homes during PGA

St. Joseph is considering rules that will allow residents to rent their houses during a two-week stretch of the Senior  PGA tourney without having to go through the approval process required of long-term vacation rentals, reports the Herald-Palladium.

The championship, at the Golf Club at Harbor Shores in Benton Harbor, will take place May 24-27, with Memorial Day, May 28, as a rain day. The economic impact of the Senior PGA Championship could be $20 million for the region, Wendy Dant Chesser, president of Cornerstone Alliance, told the commissioners. And that’s a conservative estimate.
