Perrigo Co. offers 100 reasons to apply yourself

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Perrigo Co. is adding 100 jobs and a new website launched to promote the openings lists 100 reasons people might want to take the company up on its offers.

One reason: lab coats. Clink on the link and the message along with the picture of a lab coat wearing worker is: “Yeah. That’s right. We get to wear stylish lab coats. Jealous? We thought you might be.”

The attitude is in keeping with previous talent searches in which the company released a video of its dancing scientists in 2008 and a talent show audition, cast with Perrigo employees, in 2009.  “It takes a lot of great talent to build a great company,” is the tag line on the talent show video.

The approach may be lighthearted but the search is serious. The company says it is looking for employees in all areas of the company, especially in operations, quality, regulatory affairs, and engineering.

Perrigo says the successful candidates will value teamwork and collaboration. They also must be hard working and exceptionally qualified. The company’s website also warns it is not accepting unsolicited assistance from search firms.

Perrigo currently employs 3,500 people.

Perrigo Co. develops, manufactures and distributes over-the-counter and generic prescription pharmaceuticals. It also sells infant formulas, nutritional products, active pharmaceutical ingredients and medical diagnostic products.

The Allegan-based company is the world’s largest store brand manufacturer of over-the-counter pharmaceutical products and infant formulas.
