Grant award jumpstarts new trail development in Oshtemo Township

A two-mile section of the historic Fruit Belt Rail Corridor was added to Oshtemo Township’s park properties last fall and a new grant award will allow it to begin to be readied for use this summer.

On May 7, bikers will return to the Kal-Haven Trail to celebrate spring, Michigan, wheels, and gears. The Trailblazer, an annual community ride on the Kal-Haven Trail, will be back after being put on hold by COVID.

Ride of 275 miles from Great Lake to Great Lake draws the biking faithful

The Great Lake-to-Lake Trails plan includes five routes through both peninsulas, linking the big Lakes. So far, Trail #1 is about 70 percent trail. And 70 people recently took the first ride on the 275-mile route.
