New documentary describes Kalamazoo Music Scene

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

A short documentary on YouTube takes a look at where music has been in Kalamazoo and what the scene sounds like today.

Musicians and producers talk enthusiastically about the collaboration going on in the music scene right now, which they say is in one of its resurgent periods.

Excerpt:

“We have this real, wild kind of crossbreeding kind of thing going on. We have pretty much people from five or 10 different bands on the album that come in and they contribute an instrumental track. A year ago that wouldn’t have happened. … I feel that’s all getting started in this sort of rock, folk, weird music kind of end of things we have this real cool collaboration going on,” says Andy Catlin, producer, sound engineer, booking agent and member of Graham Parsons and the Go-Rounds.
