MTV features Kalamazoo-area teen

Jasmine Symone Merritt-Camburn recently had a chance to share her talent and desire to become a professional singer on MTV.

She competed against another teenager for the chance to release a professionally produced track for iTunes, MLive.com reports.

Merritt-Camburn worked with Grammy Award-winning producers Play ‘n’ Skills and auditioned for Universal Records.

“Hopefully, it will help her see her way into a singing career,” her dad, Dave Merritt, said of the show.
