Borgess designs service for mobile users
A version of Borgess.com fit for a smart phone is now available.
Those accessing the health network’s website on their iPhones, Blackberrys, Droids or other “smart phones” now get a version specifically designed with the mobile phone in mind.
With limited screen space, users need links and information without graphics. That is what the mobile version of Borgess.com (also m.borgess.com) provides.
“Our aim is to provide potential patients and other customers of Borgess with the information they need — in the way they need it,” says Tom Comes, of Borgess. “This will make Borgess and its services a little more accessible to the community we serve.”
On the home page, smart phone users will find the most frequently used links:
• Locations, phone numbers and maps;
• Physician Finder;
• Requests for Information.
Scrolling to the bottom of the home page, users get links to the latest five Borgess news stories, and a link to the non-mobile version of Borgess.com.
For example, this week’s headlines featured:
• New Borgess Cardiothoracic Surgery Practice To Offer Minimally Invasive And Conventional Cardiothoracic Surgical Care;
• Celebrity patients bring strokes into the headlines;
• Healing Touch & Reiki Now Offered At Borgess Health & Fitness Center;
Links also perform functions automatically. When users click on a phone number, and the phone dials it.
