Battle Creek college starts registration for leadership program
Miller College in Battle Creek will offer leadership development programs as part of its new Community Leadership Center.
In addition to its fall lineup of classes, the Leadership Center offers a summer program for area youth. The Future Leaders’ Program teaches high school seniors leadership skills and information about college and moving into a career. The Future Leaders’ Program is offered in partnership with the Urban League of Battle Creek, Starr Commonwealth and the Calhoun Area Career Center.
The series of courses is offered at times convenient for working professionals and may be taken either for credit or audit.
Courses include topics such as becoming a manager, a class in understanding current issues facing new managers; ways to enhance your career, in which executives will conduct mock interviews and provide students with effective networking techniques; providing outstanding customer service; and certified manager preparation training, in which participants develop management, supervisory, and interpersonal skills critical to leadership in today’s workplace.
These classes will be offered beginning in the fall semester and registration is currently open.
Courses may be taken either for credit or audit.
The Community Leadership Center was created through a two-year, $140,000 grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. The W.K. Kellogg Foundation supports children, families and communities.
