Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant can be proud of the 120 years in education it celebrates this week.
Excerpt: On Sept. 13, 1892, the Central Michigan Normal School and Business Institute opened its doors on the second floor of the Carpenter Building at the southeast corner of Main and Michigan streets – shown in the photo in the 1970s – upstairs over the Mt. Pleasant (later Smith’s) Drug Store.
