Clare County works toward connecting residents, businesses to the world

There is no doubt that the importance of high-speed Internet is high in today's society and working world. So, it's always nice to know that you're living and doing business in a county that truly cares about keeping you connected.

Clare County is the seventh area in Michigan to be certified by the Michigan Public Service Commission as a connected community that has developed a broadband and technology plan to expand broadband access, adoption and use.

According to the MPSC, Clare County's broadband action plan has identified five priority projects: creating local jobs via teleworking opportunities; developing a broadband awareness program focused on agricultural businesses; developing or identifying a broadband training and awareness program for small and medium businesses; facilitating a technology summit; and pursuing next generation 911 upgrades.
