Hungry for a great hot dog? How about a hot dog unlike any you've ever tried before?
In either case, you should make your way to downtown Mt. Pleasant and stop by and say hello to Paul McFall at his newly-opened business, Dog Central, located at 111 East Michigan Street.
The restaurant has been "nearly open" since January, and folks have been rather rabid about getting their chance to try McFall's recipes. The restaurant's
Facebook page has been all aflutter about when the doors would finally open and when the hot dogs would begin flowing.
Dog Central officially opened Aug. 13 and the response has been impressive already. Even with the downtown construction potentially keeping away some potential customers, Dog Central has been packed for lunch each day.
The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 11 a.m. until 4 a.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Interested in trying some interesting hot dogs? How about the MacDaddy Dog? That comes with macaroni and cheese and bacon. Or the Slaw Dog? Coleslaw, tomatoes and French fries. Or the Goober Dog? An odd combo of shredded pickle, chili, crushed Fritos and peanut butter.
Don't worry, there are some traditional dogs, too, like the Detroit-style Coney and the always-tasty Chicago dog.
