Weight loss challenge accepted by Marshall

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Zonya Foco, the star of American Public Television’s “Zonya’s Health Bites,” was in Marshall recently to help launch the town’s participation in The Challenge, a countywide initiative to get residents to lose a collective 100,000 pounds of body weight.

The Battle Creek Enquirer reports the program has resulted in more than 2,500 pounds lost in Calhoun County by April 11.

For Battle Creek’s Jim Baldwin, 57, another milestone signaled continued, healthy success — his one millionth calorie burned.

Excerpt:

“On January 1, it was 250 pounds,” he said of his starting weight. “I actually weighed this morning and I’m down to 242.”
