B.C. Enquirer: A multicultural celebration at the Art Center

The Art Center of Battle Creek will be transformed into a focal point for a multicultural celebration starting Sunday, May 6, the Battle Creek Enquirer reports. “Unity in Diversity: The Heartbeat and Ties of Many Cultures” opens at the art center, located at 265 E. Emmett St.

Representatives from nine different cultures within the Battle Creek community will feature displays in the museum, highlighting the artwork, values, cultural practices and unique qualities of the culture. There will also be interactive displays for kids and parents.

Excerpt:

“It will be like walking around the world, in a way,” said Barb Shambach, from the organization Bridges to Cultural Understanding. “We’re pretty excited about it. I don’t think we’ve ever gotten all the nine cultures together in one place before. It should be very colorful and joyful.”
