Website offers striking view of Kalamazoo

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

For those who have moved and miss Kalamazoo, or those who live in the city and like being reminded of its visual treasures, the website Kalamazoo Pics offers city scene through a new lens.

Jason Coon describes his site, which has been up for about two years, as a random collection of locations, events, and beautiful areas of Southwest Michigan that surround the city of Kalamazoo. He’s taken many of the pictures himself.

Excerpt:

I have two promos in one post for the Kalamazoo area.

First, the Western Michigan Bronco athletics are, in my mind, becoming more fun to watch. Their football team has been decent this year, and I have been to several baseball, volleyball, and basketball games as well. Hopefully I can make it to a hockey game soon. So, check out some of the games. It’s affordable, the fans are great, and they play some decent teams that are fun to watch.

Second, I have been taking a sports photography class through the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. This class is very well organized and I think I would highly recommend any class at the institute. It’s a fun way to learn and grow as an individual.
