NWI Times: Piece of heaven in South Haven

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Vanessa Renderman, a health reporter for The Times of Munster, Indiana, had a weekend with the girls in South Haven recently and found it was just what she needed. She says they shopped the streets of South Haven and “saw more than a few groups like us — clusters of women giggling and carrying shopping bags.”

They sampled seasonings at the olive oil store and blueberry coffee at the blueberry store. They walked down the sidewalk singing, “Thank You for Being a Friend,” the theme song to the “Golden Girls.”

Excerpt:

“I took so many pictures that by the end of the trip, they wanted to toss my camera into the lake. But, I couldn’t stop myself. I wanted to hold on to every second of it, capture every memory that was being made.”
