Cartier Mansion Bed & Breakfast wins award for Best Historical B&B in America

What's happening: Cartier Mansion Bed & Breakfast in Ludington was recently voted Newsweek Readers' Choice for Best Historical B & B in America. Cartier Mansion was one of only two Midwest B&Bs out of 15 nominees from across the country, competing against inns in Denver, Cape Cod and Philadelphia. The Laurium Manor Inn, located in the U.P., earned the number three spot.

The impact: The recognition is another honor for Ludington, which was recognized earlier this year as "best historic small town’ by USA Today 10Best readers, said
Brandy Miller, who is executive director of the Ludington Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. “This B&B embodies the rich history of our community dating back to 1873 and our many historic attractions that bring people to Ludington. Cartier Mansion is the perfect place to stay for a fully immersive historical experience.”

About the inn: Built in 1905 by a prominent Ludington businessman and politician, the three-story Cartier Mansion is considered a neoclassical masterpiece with Roman pressed brick and Bedford limestone accents. Inside, the architectural features include mahogany, oak, cherry, and walnut and rooms adorned with meticulously preserved period antiques and fine art. Guests are treated to gourmet breakfasts, featuring seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. The refined comforts include lavish bath and bed amenities, high-speed mesh Wi-Fi throughout the property, personalized climate control, and state-of-the-art entertainment options.

What they're saying: "We are honored to be named the Best Historical B&B," said Jenna Simpler, owner of the Cartier Mansion. "It is our commitment to provide our guests with extraordinary and memorable experiences, and this award is a testament to our hard work and dedication."
