Eudici's Pizza adds new Midland location

Can you ever have too many pizza places? Many think not. Fans of Eudici's Pizza, based in Freeland, can now enjoy gourmet pizza, breadsticks, salad, chicken wings, and nachos at the new Midland location. Eudici’s Pizza, located at 318 S. Saginaw Road, opened on June 7.

After customers and residents expressed an interest in the business opening up another location in Midland, co-owner Leah Flach says the expansion process took several months. Flach owns Eudici’s with her husband, Kurt Flach, and her brother, Seth, and sister-in-law, Melissa Clement.

Eudici's Pizza is located at 318 S. Saginaw Road in Midland.
The co-owners, Gladwin natives, bought the Freeland Eudici’s Pizza in 2014 from the original owners, and have been running the store for nearly 10 years.

“We’ve been thinking about opening a location in Midland for a long time, and people have asked. We finally found a location and decided to open,” she says.
Since opening last month, Flach says the community’s support has been great.
“The response has been really good, and so far, we’ve loved being in Midland. It’s been really great,” she says.
Eudici's Pizza offers take out, delivery, and dine in service.
Flach says the central location, a former bakery, next to Big Apple Bagels, made an ideal spot for the restaurant. Popular menu items include specialty pizzas, including the Smokehouse Pizza (smoky BBQ sauce, ham, bacon, and a cheese blend), and the Chicken Pesto Pizza (grilled chicken, fresh pesto sauce, tomatoes, red onions, and a cheese blend).

“The original owner actually won a competition with the chicken pesto pizza in Chicago when he first opened, so that one is pretty popular,” she says. “People also love our breadsticks, and our wings are really popular also. Midland has also really loved our nachos.”

The 1900 square foot restaurant is mostly a takeout and delivery operation, but does provide some seating for roughly 15-20 diners. The open kitchen allows customers to see the employees make the pizza, and hand-slap the dough, something Flach says sets the restaurant apart from many competitors.

“We hand-slap all of our pizzas, and make all of our dough fresh in the store, which most places don’t do anymore,” Flach says. “We’re a family-owned pizzeria, we’re not a big corporation. We have a lot of fun making pizza.”

Flach hopes to get more involved in the Midland community, in the same way the small business gives back to its Freeland schools, hosts fundraisers and donates pizzas.

As of now, the hours are limited, but might expand in the future. Eudici’s Pizza is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to midnight, and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
