Emerson Park Master Plan: Community invited to share ideas and vision

The Parks and Recreation Department is seeking input from Midlanders as they kick off the Emerson Park Master Plan process. Residents are encouraged to join city staff on Wednesday, July 17, at 6 p.m. at Emerson Park Pavilion D for a public input session. At the session, attendees can share their memories and visions for the park's future, participate in a brief presentation on the master planning process, and participate in interactive activities designed to gather feedback.

Residents who cannot attend the input session on July 17 are encouraged to share their ideas through an open topic on E-CityHall, the City's public engagement platform. The topic is currently open, and will stop accepting contributions on Monday, July 22.

The city has also published a survey for community members to express their ideas. The survey will also be open until July 22 and can be accessed here.

The information gathered from the community will be used to create an initial conceptual plan for the park, presented at the Parks and Recreation Commission meeting on Aug. 7. As funding becomes available, the upcoming improvements outlined in the Emerson Park Master Plan will be implemented gradually. At present, there is no specified funding stream for these developments.
