August things to do: Festivals, shopping, Music Moves Us, history, movies, Wings Over Muskegon

These are the dog days of summer, so stay cool and take a look at what’s on the Lakeshore calendar this month. There are sidewalk sales, history presentations, an air show, movies, music, festivals, stargazing, an ice cream social and a summer social, crafts, farm markets, and learning opportunities — there’s even an event for your dog and the Labor Day holiday (technically, it’s Sept. 2, but … close enough).

August offers a wide variety of things to do in Allegan, Muskegon, and Ottawa counties. This list includes options for everyone, regardless of age, ability, or interest.
